Topic 15 – Young Parrots and Their Behavior

This is another important topic we should look into and try to help our young feather friends.

What is Bluffing?

Bluffing are lunging, nipping, biting, hissing and a general residence to interaction, they enter in bluffing stage between the ages of 4 months and 1 year, we think it is due to hormonal changes that take place as the bird changes from juvenile/young parrot into an adult parrot. Parrot owners think that their baby parrots became little monster, please be patient with them they are like teenagers in human we are patient with our children. You shouldn’t take your bird’s behaviour seriously, sometimes you will be cursed in parrots language and sometimes bitten few times, and that does not mean that your parrot does not love you. As well, watch your parrot more closely and make sure that you and your parrot make it through the bluffing stage with your bond undamaged.

Bluffing stage can last anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months.
